Welcome to the Deferred Members section of our site.

Deferred members are former employees of Coats or related companies who were members of the Plan, who left a pension entitlement in the Plan and who have not yet reached the point of drawing their pensions. These members will be able to claim a pension on their retirement. As at December 2003 there are 16,130 people who hold deferred benefits within the Plan - approximately 44% of the total membership. Of these members, we do not have a current or correct address on our records for around 5,000 people. Without the correct address, we are unable to contact our members with news or other useful information, and it makes it difficult or even impossible to trace them to pay their pensions when they become due. This makes it clear how important it is to keep your details up to date by writing to us with your changes of address and other relevant information.
